All of us use the Internet. So, many people, when they hear the word “permalink” for the first time, they might wonder:  what is permalink?”

Before explaining what permalink is, we need to talk a little bit about the term “URL“.

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator and it is used as the address of resources on the Internet, such as web pages, online files, etc. In more simple words, a URL is the address of a web page or any other resource that is online on the Internet.

Now that we have talked about what URL is, we are ready to explain what a Permalink is.

Permalink stands for “Permanent Link”. As the name implies, a permalink is a URL that is intended to remain unchanged in the future, thus allowing third parties to reference this URL without worrying that it will change.
